Hacking Citrix
Hacking Citrix or just poor configuration?
Hacking Citrix is probably not the correct title to give this section of HackArmoury, as it implies that these tools and techniques are exploiting a vulnerability in Citrix. However, when *most* people talk about hacking citrix, or breaking out of citrix, they do this by taking advantage of configuration settings or weakness in the operating system. There are vulnerabilities found in Citrix, but this site will not really deal with those. This section will deal with poor Windows configurations that are being used to host applictions/data that will be presented via Citrix. But Hacking Citrix sounds far better than Hacking poorly configured Windows machines, so we will stick with that.
Mindset: There is always a way
So you are faced with a Citrix environment where you have a few published applications - how do you go about it? The general prinicple is that there will be a way to breakout of the list of published programs you have available. Using the tools and techniques on this website you will learn some of the methods which can be used to gain access to resources you should't be able to. There usually is a way, you just need to dig deep and be persistent - these operating systems are pretty hard to lock down effectively.
Securing
As well as providing details of tools and techniques to bypass restricted environments (aka Citrix), I have provided a constantly evolving page of security best practices when trying to harden the O/S to prevent some of these attacks.
